Aksyon Balita

Aksyon Balita (Filipino for "Action News", formerly NewsWatch Aksyon Balita) is the late afternoon news broadcast of Radio Philippines Network in the Philippines. Launched in 2006, it is broadcast at 5:30 PM Philippine time (GMT +8).

It was created as a spin-off of the network's now-defunct long-running news program, NewsWatch. With the latter program's final episode on March 9, 2007, the Filipino edition dropped the "NewsWatch" tag and is retitled to, simply, Aksyon Balita, apparently to complement the network's new English newscast, i-Watch News.

It was first aired on April 17, 2006 and was anchored by former ABS-CBN news anchor and reporter Erwin Tulfo. Months ago he was joined by Aljo Bendijo and Connie Sison who were Tulfo's fellow news anchors from ABS-CBN. But, Tulfo resigned as its news anchor because of the controversy of his brothers Raffy and Mon with First Gentleman Mike Arroyo and he was replaced by Jake Morales until Sison and Bendijo remained as its main anchors. On April 2007, Sison moved to GMA Network and replaced by Vikki Sambilay. Bendijo and Sambilay became the newscast's main anchors until Sambilay went solo. On October 15, 2007, Sambilay was joined by Bobby Yan who was a former ABS-CBN TV Host, San Juan City councilor, the current host of One Morning and the brother of the late Movie and TV star Rico Yan. Last January 4, 2008, it went its final airing. It was replaced by NewsWatch which went back on the air on January 7, 2008.

24 Oras

24 Oras is a nightly national newscast which airs on the GMA Network in the Philippines. Launched in 2004, it is one of the most watched news programs in the country. The program airs at 6:30 PM PST on Weekdays, and is also simulcast on GMA Pinoy TV. On December 1, 2005, the coverage by 24 Oras of a siege of Camp Bagong Diwa was mentioned in the best news program category in the Asian Television Awards in Singapore.

The show relaunched in May 2006 with a new graphics package, and a new set with floating large rear projection screens that allow the anchors to virtually "talk" to correspondents in live feeds. Pia Guanio hosts the showbiz news segment of the program, "Chika Minute". PAGASA's Nathaniel Cruz anchors weather news during severe weather conditions. Joel Reyes Zobel is the voice over talent. On August 11, 2008, the set and graphics was changed into more prestigious and more competitive outlook.

TV Patrol World

TV Patrol World is the flagship national network news broadcast of ABS-CBN in the Philippines. It can be heard simultaneously in DZMM and its TV counterpart, DZMM TeleRadyo. It pioneered the Philippine newscasts, with fast-paced delivery of news reports, accompanied with flashy graphic animations and music. It is the most watched news program in the entire Philippines. TV Patrol celebrates their 20th Anniversary since its inception in 1987 (as TV Patrol), it has been the longest running Filipino primetime newscast.

For 20 years, "TV Patrol" has been the definitive source of information. One of the show’s historic marks happened during the Martial Law when they broke media silence and brought information to the people. Until now, "TV Patrol World" continues to pursue this dedication for truth and constantly involves the citizenry through Citizen Journalism. It was then innovated through the use of technology in TV Patrol World’s segment Citizen Patrol and ABS-CBN’s breakthrough election campaign, "Boto Mo iPatrol Mo," which recently won the Award for Excellence in the Philippine Gold Quill Awards and Honorable Mention in the Asia Pacific PR Awards.
